This year is quickly coming to an end, and I don’t know about you, but I am ready to celebrate. Tunica is the place to be this New Year’s Eve. Something exciting took place last weekend in Tunica and I’m not just talking about Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Last week Hollywood Casino, Resorts Casino, and Sam’s Town Tunica Casino hosted the first ever Casino Strip Presents $100,000 slot tournament. This tournament was the first of it’s kind here in Tunica and let me tell you, it was a lot of fun.
The countdown is on for the biggest Country music festival this year, the Delta Country Jam on Oct. 4th and 5th and we have your tickets. Purchase your tickets at the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Center for a discounted rate of just $57 each day. That is an over $30 savings compared to what you would pay online.

Just when you thought the Delta Country Jam couldn’t get any hotter, they go and add even more Country Music stars to the line up. The Delta Country Jam Music Festival is October 4-5, 2013. I promise, you don’t want to miss the hottest music festival of the year.
The fun starts on Friday night when Billy Currington, Thompson Square, Jerrod Nieman, Josh Thompson and Steel Magnolia take the stage. The new Americana Buffet opened last week at Gold Strike Casino to rave reviews. The newly renovated $8 million dollar buffet design is inspired by the area with a large skylight, southern pine and even Levi’s 501 jeans. Yep, you read that right. Levi’s are incorporated in the space and add a hip element to the buffet. But the design is not the only thing we are excited about.

During October, there are plenty of gaming promotions, giveaways, hotel savings and buffet specials to help you make the most of your fall visit.

At Resorts, there will be a $10,000 football frenzy table games drawing October 27. At 9 p.m., 20 players will win $500: $250 in cash and $250 in promo chips. Earn one entry for every hour of continuous play ($5 minimum bet per hand). Entries can be earned until 6 p.m. the day of the drawing.
On Wednesdays at the Hollywood Casino, the Silver Screen Slot Tournament gives Club Hollywood members the chance to win a $2,500 tournament. Players only need to earn 25 points in one day to enter, and those 55+ only need 10 points. In giveaways, players at Hollywood can enter to win a car every Saturday in October in the Choose Your Hybrid Giveaway.
The air’s going to be hot in Tunica this November! Come see the 1st Annual Tunica Balloon Bash that will welcome 40 hot air balloons to four casino resort properties. Hot air balloonists from across the country will come together the weekend of November 9-11, 2012 to compete in early morning races to win over $12,000 in cash and prizes.
And this event isn’t just for the hot air balloon expert! Each casino property will host balloons in their parking lot for a balloon glow at sunset on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors are invited to meet the pilots and experience the size and beauty of this majestic sight of the orange glow in the Mississippi Delta.
In addition to the balloon glow, visitors will have an opportunity to ride 40-50 feet up in a hot air balloon on a tethered ride. This month, let’s explore what’s going on at Gold Strike. I’m pleased to report that the Tunica destination is alive, well and OPEN for business! Everyone is aware that we lived through a very difficult month of May due to the rising floodwaters of the Mighty Mississippi. Due to the great exposure of this event by both local and national news sources, we thought we would update you on the true story of the great flood of 2011.
Did you hear?! The Roaming Gnome broke into our Comp Closet and stole our Summer Stay & Stuff packages to experience Tunica for himself. We’re glad that he decided to visit, but if he had asked we would have been more than happy to show the little rascal around town! We have been hot on his trail to get your comps back, but we need your help finding him.

Today officially starts the dog days of summer. With the longs day and hot temps in store for the next few months, make plans to cool off at Harrah’s Heatwave pool parties.
