The Hollywood Café
A huge hit with music lovers, The Hollywood Café is the site where March Cohn and Muriel Wilkins sang spiritual songs. This event is the direct inspiration for Cohn’s famous song “Walking in Memphis” and serves as an integral location on the historic blues trail. Other blues musicians, such as Son House and Willie Brown, also visited performed in the restaurant. Outside of the music, The Hollywood Café is renowned for its Southern cooking style, legendary fried pickles, and delicious pecan pie. There is also a Mississippi Blues Trail marker located there.
Blue & White
When Blue & White took over the first full-service Pure Oil station in the Mississippi Delta in 1937, it became a state landmark. The roadside restaurant offers a retro vibe with its checkered floors and vinyl seats, and its menu features delectable traditional Southern cooking. For dessert lovers, the Blue & White also has homemade doughnuts and cinnamon rolls, so get there early before they sell out!
