I’m pleased to report that the Tunica destination is alive, well and OPEN for business! Everyone is aware that we lived through a very difficult month of May due to the rising floodwaters of the Mighty Mississippi. Due to the great exposure of this event by both local and national news sources, we thought we would update you on the true story of the great flood of 2011.
Although I have been living here in the Mississippi Delta for several years now, I am still amazed with how much there is to see and experience here. I recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend in Greenwood, MS and let me tell you, if you want a romantic weekend or a girls getaway, this is the place (besides Tunica, or course).
The signs of spring were abundant this past weekend in Tunica. The weather was gorgeous! While walking the dog, I came across blooming irises and tulips, a baby turtle and a cardinal. All these things reminded me that it’s the time for renewal and probably a little spring-cleaning. Typically, I associate spring-cleaning with dusting the blinds, washing the windows and rearranging the furniture, but this year, I’m all about working on cleaning out my closets.
Vegas may be called Sin City, but Tunica’s got 7 sins that will make you ask for forgiveness . . . Down The Road!

So, maybe this sin is a give-in for Tunica. If you’re coming to play slots, throw craps or hit 21, you’re looking to strike it rich here. Is that really so bad? We could all use a little extra green in our pockets!

“Shop ’til you drop” is my motto, and living here in Tunica allows me to do just that. While Tunica may be known for our casinos, great food, and the MS Blues Trail, there is also some of the best shopping in the Mid-South.
Just a few days ago, the Town of Tunica was visited by the “California Gurl” Katy Perry, and her beau, Russell Brand. Tunica’s not unaccustomed to having big-name stars visit especially when they come to perform, but this mini-vacation for the soon-to-be married couple was a very welcome surprise.
Pool parties are in full swing and the mosquitoes are running on all cylinders, but those back-to-school sales don’t lie – the end of summer is right around the corner. But there is still time to squeeze in one last family getaway before the school bells start ringing. Why not head down the road to Tunica and enjoy those precious last few days of summer? More than just a gaming destination, Tunica has a number of family-friendly activities that children of all ages can enjoy.

You might have been to Tunica’s Outlet Mall, the Casino Factory Shoppes, or found a small gift at one of Tunica’s nine casino gift shops, but you have not explored Tunica without taking a trip “down south” 10 minutes on Highway 61 to Downtown Tunica. Not only does she seem to have everything, but she is also extremely picky, and I hate to say, somewhat hard to please.
