Last Chance Summer Trips

We all remember the days when summer vacation always seemed to end too soon. Like most kids, we dreaded the return of school, teachers and homework. Nowadays, even some adults dread the end of summer. The end of summer means less sunshine, the looming inevitability of cold weather and the end of daylight savings time, ensuring that we leave work, essentially, in the dark..

Culinary Getaway in Greenwood, MS

Although I have been living here in the Mississippi Delta for several years now, I am still amazed with how much there is to see and experience here. I recently had the opportunity to spend a weekend in Greenwood, MS and let me tell you, if you want a romantic weekend or a girls getaway, this is the place (besides Tunica, or course).

Spring into Something New in Tunica

The signs of spring were abundant this past weekend in Tunica.  The weather was gorgeous!  While walking the dog, I came across blooming irises and tulips, a baby turtle and a cardinal.  All these things reminded me that it’s the time for renewal and probably a little spring-cleaning.  Typically, I associate spring-cleaning with dusting the blinds, washing the windows and rearranging the furniture, but this year, I’m all about working on cleaning out my closets.

So, maybe this sin is a give-in for Tunica.  If you’re coming to play slots, throw craps or hit 21, you’re looking to strike it rich here.  Is that really so bad?  We could all use a little extra green in our pockets!

Find the Perfect Mother’s Day Gift in Tunica

Flowers again? Another generic gift card? Or should I just take her to brunch with a nice card? Each year I stress about what I am going to buy my mother for Mother’s Day. Not only does she seem to have everything, but she is also extremely picky, and I hate to say, somewhat hard to please. While leaving the casinos last weekend, it hit me — why not shop in Tunica for that special gift?
