After a long winter, the signs of spring are arriving all around us here in Tunica! Everywhere we turn, we see flowers being planted, birds flying and trees turning lush and green again. All of these things remind us that spring offers a fresh start and time to get out of the house! Spring also brings a time to freshen up that wardrobe or house décor! Downtown Tunica offers an opportunity for you to get outdoors and enjoy the weather while also shopping for a fresh new look both for you and your house.
When you hear the name Resorts Casino you usually think winning, but did you know that Resorts also has some of the best dining choices around as well as great shopping? Each experience even has their own way of paying homage to the Blues culture here in the Mississippi Delta.
As we’re in the midst of Black History Month, we are reminded of the contributions that African Americans have made to our culture, country and world. One great offering is the creation of The Blues.
The Gateway to the Blues Museum, Mississippi’s newest blues experience will open this January alongside blues highway 61 in Tunica Resorts. Just 20 miles from Memphis’s Beale Street and Elvis’ Graceland, it will serve as the perfect stop for tourists and music lovers searching for that authentic blues experience.
The thermometers rise has not cooled off the progress from here alongside Blues Highway 61 at the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Center and soon to be Museum. In fact, August has seen this project get hotter than a Mississippi Delta Juke Joint on a Saturday night!
Having a stress-free holiday is all about making the most of your time. One of the best ways to make your time count is by killing two birds with one stone. It’s easy to have some fun living it up just down the road in Tunica while crossing off holiday shopping from your to-do list.
This year is flying by and May is almost here. The month of May to me means Mother’s Day, A chance to thank mom for all she has done over the years. One of the best ways to thank her is
to get her something special, and that’s not hard to do with all the shopping options in Tunica. From the outlet mall, specialty boutiques, Paula Deen gift shop, and even one of a kind gifts at the Gateway to the Blues visitor center gift shop you are sure to find something mom will love.
Where does the time go? Another year is almost in the books with the holiday season arriving upon us as fast as a Santa’s sleigh rooftop landing on Christmas morn. Speaking of rooftop landings, we in Tunica had a major rooftop landing this week with the arrival of the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Center marquee sign.
Don’t run all over town fighting the crowds and traffic trying to find those perfect last minute gifts, head on over to Tunica.
Here are a few places to go in Tunica to get those last minute gifts:
Just a few days ago, the Town of Tunica was visited by the “California Gurl” Katy Perry, and her beau, Russell Brand. Tunica’s not unaccustomed to having big-name stars visit especially when they come to perform, but this mini-vacation for the soon-to-be married couple was a very welcome surprise.
It’s time to pack your bag and hit the road! Just down the road, Tunica is the place to get away from everything this summer.
The best place to start your planning is www.tunicatravel.com. Use the Road Trip icon to add places to your trip as you go through the site. Then you can go to My Trip Planner to see all of the places you’ll see on your Tunica vacation.
You might have been to Tunica’s Outlet Mall, the Casino Factory Shoppes, or found a small gift at one of Tunica’s nine casino gift shops, but you have not explored Tunica without taking a trip “down south” 10 minutes on Highway 61 to Downtown Tunica. We took the Travel Tunica team to Downtown Tunica for a day of shopping and eating on Main Street.
Flowers again? Another generic gift card? Or should I just take her to brunch with a nice card? Each year I stress about what I am going to buy my mother for Mother’s Day. Not only does she seem to have everything, but she is also extremely picky, and I hate to say, somewhat hard to please. While leaving the casinos last weekend, it hit me — why not shop in Tunica for that special gift?
