At the Tunica Arena and Exposition Center, you never know what kind of event you’ll have the opportunity to attend during your visit. This season, the arena will attract events in cheerleading, motor sports, horse shows and more.
Cheerleading, Motor Sports
Saturday, January 19, the Universal Cheerleaders Association and Universal Dance Association are hosting the Delta Blues Challenge Cheerleading Competition. All-star cheer teams compete from 9 a.m. until noon, school and youth recreational teams compete from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and dance teams compete from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Doors open at 8 a.m., and tickets prices vary by age: 13 and up are $10, 5 to 12 are $5 and 4 and under are free). Fans of indoor motorcross can attend the Arenacross Tour Saturday, February 9. It’s one of the largest arenacross series in the Southeast. Throughout the 11 rounds of racing, 30 pro motocross and pro quad drivers compete to win. Top riders each competing classes also race one another in the 20-lap “Clash for Cash.”
Equestrian and Cattle
Tunica’s first equestrian event of 2013 is the Tunica Classic Cutting Horse Futurity January 28-February 4. Chris Cox’ Ride the Journey Tour is next February 16-17 (admission is free!). At his Ride the Journey Tour, Chris demonstrates the same horse training methods he uses in clinics across the U.S.
Two team roping events will take place at the arena: Rope the Ozarks Team Roping (March 9-10) and Brother N Laws Team Roping (April 27-28). Another exciting event is the Cowboy Mounted Shooting National Championship, which will be held April 14-20.
The arena hosts horse shows for different ranching activities and breeds. The Arkansas Reining Horse Show is May 4-5 and CBD Productions’ NSBA Horse Show is the following week (May 8-12).

The Southeastern Beef Master Cattle Sale, one of the largest southern cattle sales in the state, will be at the Tunica Arena March 22-23.
Looking ahead to the summer, the Tunica Arena will host the two week-long PBHA Palomino World Show July 10-21. More than 850 Palomino horses will compete in World Championship Classes, futurities and maturities. This event will be held at the arena each year through at least 2015.
The Tunica Arena also brings concerts, exhibits, trade show and family events to Tunica. New events are always being added to the arena’s calendar, so keep checking our event calendar so you don’t miss out on the next big event!
