Northeasterners, Midwesterners, Northwesterners and those of you spread out across other unreasonably wintery regions: it’s time to make your annual migratory escape to warmth. Take off your snowshoes and come down South to Tunica and enjoy our gaming, restaurants and entertainment. You may think our accents are a little funny, but our warm hospitality will make you forget all your snow shoveling responsibilities.
Here are a few ways to warm up in Tunica:
- With hot stone therapy at Golden Reflections Spa at Gold Strike.
- Eating jalapeno cheese and smoked bacon oysters on the half shell at The Fitz’ Steakhouse or hot wings at the Blue & White Restaurant.
- Playing the $5,000 Sizzlin Slot Tournament at Bally’s. Each Thursday in February from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., win a share of $5,000 in Free Slot Play.
- In a Jacuzzi tub at Roadhouse, which comes standard in each room.
- Getting blood flowing with indoor cardio tennis at Tunica National.
RV Parks:
Many of our snowbird friends travel the country by RV. Tunica has four TV parks: The Sam’s Town RV park recently reopened with major upgrades and additions. Harrah’s Casino Mid-South RV Park is a full-service luxury RV resort with a heated pool, Volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts and basketball court. Hollywood Casino has 123 spaces with electric, water, cable TV, sanitary hookups, telephones and propane amenities. And the Bordeaux Point RV Park is located on Tunica Lake.
You can also take your RV on the Mississippi Blues Trail. The Tunica Visitors Center on Highway 61 is the entrance of the Blues Trail. See how many of the 120 markers you can spot (five are in Tunica!). Maps can be found here.
