Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said “The only thing one can do when it rains is to let it rain.” Even though rain is a pain in the “boot-ie” the festival will be a go and no truer words can describe the 21 years of the Tunica Rivergate Music Festival. This year’s festival will be held April 19th & 20th rain or shine.
Crawfish Alley will turning out the crawfish all weekend and there is some great dancing in the street music lined up. Dayron Sharp will start us out on Friday night followed by the Fabulous Steelers.
Saturday morning, not only will we bring back the running of the HOGs,but we are adding a 5k Enduring Freedom Run/Walk. The usual Arts/Crafts, Food Vendors, Children’s Activities (4th Annual bicycle race) along with Skin & Bones Comedy Circus, rocking climbing, paintball shooting range, monkey jumping fun and yes, BBQ will be in the air as the teams put their best foot forward or is that their best ribs, margaritas, bloody marys and this year we have added crawfish to their competition.
Saturday evening we will start dancing in the streets again with Class Act of Batesville, MS around 2:30 then at 4pm we will let Otis “TCB” Taylor take care of the business of rocking us right up to the announcements of the winners of BBQ Contest. Be sure to stick around for the the “Boot-ie” Review, a competition of the best looking rain boots.
