Fall is here! Some of my favorite things about this season are the changing leaves, cool nights wrapped in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa, corn mazes and the State Fair.
As a kid, I remember my family going to the state fair specifically for the rodeo and then walking through the animal barns to see the horses that had just performed for us. For all you country boys and girls, it might not seem like much to be close to such a magnificent animal, but for this city girl it filled me with awe and amazement. And now as an adult, I get that same feeling when I visit the Tunica Arena & Expo Center.
The Tunica Arena is a great Mid-South venue for horse shows, rodeos, tractor pulls, cheerleading competitions, sporting events and livestock sales. Many of the arena’s events and shows are free to the public. It’s a great place to get away from the flashing lights and sounds of the casino and just kick back for a bit while watching some quarter horses or a barrel race. Plus, while the competition is happening in the main arena, there is a practice arena and over 600 stalls where you can see the horses up close and personal.
So the next time you’re in Tunica, why not mosey on down the road to the Tunica Arena & Expo Center for some year-round horsing around!
