Considering that I have been heavily involved in sports for years, it probably is no surprise that I try to find something sport-related almost everywhere I go. Even though I am a fan of all sports, my favorite to play is golf. Anytime that I can get away to get in a good game of golf, I do. Sometimes I want to get out of Memphis, but don’t have time to travel a long distance to other courses. Luckily for me, Tunica is just down the road.
I definitely have gone to Tunica for things besides golf, but I also have a lot friends that don’t gamble, so it’s nice that Tunica offers other great things that they can do. I have even enjoyed staying in Tunica a number of times, but what I think a lot of people overlook is the great golf down in Tunica. For golfers in the Memphis area, Tunica is a hidden jewel. I have played at all three of Tunica’s great courses: Riverbend Links, The Links at Cottonwoods, and Tunica National. Each course is relatively different and offer golfers a variety of greens.
For me, I just enjoy getting away to play. It’s great that Memphians have something that is so close to home. Even though the bulk of the reason why I go to Tunica is to play golf, I think Tunica has several hidden gems still waiting to be discovered.
