Chrissy and I decided to grab Mary from our office and see what all the talk was about. As soon as we arrived, we could tell the place was ready to celebrate with the sea of green clothes, hats, beads and glow-in-the-dark necklaces. We even met a couple from Nashville who were dressed to impress in their green attire.
We started the evening at the beer cart that was serving green ale and then danced our way over to the slots listening to the live band nearby. After trying a few machines, we found some that we liked and settled in for a while. Then we tried a couple of hands at blackjack, but ended up back at the slots. After about an hour playing slots and all of us having luck on our sides, we headed upstairs to dinner. Our original plan was to eat at the buffet, but the line was insane! Apparently the Irish fare was calling to everyone. Instead we ate at Don B’s Steakhouse, which was a great choice. The Fitz special and the Lamb Chops were excellent and highly recommended. The entire table ended with desserts including carrot cake, crème brulee and something called the Chocolate Explosion. If you love chocolate, the Explosion was heaven sent. When we left there was money in our pockets and food in our bellies, so all in all it was a great night.
