Casino Strip Presents $100,000 Slot Tournament

Something exciting took place last weekend in Tunica and I’m not just talking about Thanksgiving and Black Friday.  Last week Hollywood Casino, Resorts Casino, and Sam’s Town Tunica Casino hosted the first ever Casino Strip Presents $100,000 slot tournament.  This tournament was the first of it’s kind here in Tunica and let me tell you, it was a lot of fun.

Tournament play took place over two days at the three casinos with an optional early bird registration on Thanksgiving for an extra 500 points added to your score, which I took advantage of.  I figured I needed all the help I could get.

Slot TournamentThe first round of tournament play was held at Resorts Casino on Friday night. With the band rocking the stage bar, and the buzz of excitement from all the players, I was feeling lucky. I headed up to the tournament play area and chose my lucky number 8 as my machine to play the first round of which was 5 minutes long on a Double Diamond machine.  I walked away with a tired hand from all the tapping on the machine and hoping I would do a little better on the next two rounds.

My second round of the tournament was played Saturday morning at Sam’s Town Tunica.  This round was 3 minutes long and took a little skill. The game they chose for us to play involved popping balloons as they appeared on the screen as well as tapping the spin button as fast as you can.  I faired a little better in this round but my hopes of winning first place were fading fast, but the tournament was paying up to 150th place so I still had a chance to win.

Then came Saturday afternoon and my final round at Hollywood Casino. The game was the same as at Sam’s Town but this time I only had 2 minutes to rack up the points. I knew right away by looking at the other scores that I hadn’t done well enough to cinch the grand prize but I will say it was an exciting tournament to play in and I can’t wait to play again.

While I didn’t place in the tournament, there were 150 lucky winners with the first place prize of $25,000 going to Robert Beckman from Grenada, MS.  If you didn’t make it to this tournament, be sure to check out some of our other slot tournaments.
