In Tunica, you can get any type of food you want all hours of the day. From buffets, bbq, fine dining and burgers, We Got It! Here is a list of the top 10 foods in Tunica that we don’t want you to miss while visiting.
- Fried Dill Pickles at The Hollywood Café – You can go almost anywhere in the South and find a place that serves fried dill pickles. Some are spears, some are chips and all have their signature batter, but why not visit the place that started it all and claims it is the “Home of the Fried Dill Pickle.” While you are there be sure to check out the gold record hanging on the wall. You know Muriel played the piano every Friday at the Hollywood.
- Noodles Casual Asian Fusion at Horseshoe Casino – Located just off the gaming floor next to the high limit room, Noodles is a little know gem. In my opinion the best thing on the menu is the Crispy Orange Beef. So tender with the hint of spicy and sweet, make sure you ask them to fry it twice and order with a side of fried rice.
- Catfish Marie at the Café Marie – Tucked away in historic downtown Tunica is the Café Marie. Their signature dish, the Catfish Marie starts with fried catfish on a bed of grits topped with a crawfish and shrimp etouffee. The dish is finished off with jumbo shrimp.
- Bloody Mary from Tunica National Golf & Tennis – I know I promised you my top 10 foods and this is technically a drink, but I promise you will thank me for this. The Bloody Mary at Tunica National is perfectly mixed and has a special blend of seasonings that keep you guessing how it’s made. It is the perfect drink to take with you for a round of golf or just stop by and pick one up, if you’ve spent the night partying at the casinos.
- Fried Chicken at the Blue and White – Fridays are for fried chicken at the Blue and White. Crispy, juicy and seasoned perfectly it will remind you of Sunday dinners at Grandma’s house.
- Charcuterie and Cheese Plate from Twain’s at Sam’s Town Tunica – Even though this is on the appetizer menu, it is perfect to pair with a nice bottle of wine. The plate is an assortment of house made sausages, smoked maple-orange cured bacon and gourmet cheeses served with a cranberry chutney and spiced honey mustard dipping sauce.
- The Deep South Burger from Big Burger at Resorts Casino – Every once in a while you have to throw that diet to the side and splurge and this is the burger to do it with. This is a 1/3 lb. burger topped with cheese, fries and onion rings. If you are feeling adventurous, try Big Burger’s 6 lb. burger.
- Bananas Foster Flambe from Chicago Steakhouse at Gold Strike Casino – If you are trying to impress that special someone, bring them to Chicago and order this dessert. It is prepared table side with bananas, brown sugar, liquors and served over ice cream in a beautiful martini glass. Click here to catch a glimpse of this dessert experience.
- Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich from the Snackbar at Fitz Casino – The Philly starts with a toasted bun and topped with thinly sliced steak, grilled onions and peppers and topped with melted cheese. Order with the waffle fries and you have the perfect meal to keep you winning.
- Hot Tamales from Mr. Grays BBQ – At first glance you would think that this is just any other roadside food truck, think again. Mr. Gray’s has some of the best BBQ you will ever put in your mouth, but my favorite thing is his tamales. Tunica is located on the world famous tamale trail and you will understand why after you have tasted these tamales. Mr. Gray’s is located on the corner of Old Hwy. 61 and Old Mhoon Landing Road in downtown Tunica.
