Bonkerz Comedy Featuring Tony Black at Gold Strike Casino Resort

Originally from Miami, FL, Tony Black was raised by his mother. Though times were hard the family managed to find happiness in laughter. Tony discovered he was blessed with a gift for making people laugh at an early age while working his first job as a bag boy.

After being encouraged by several coworkers he decided to take his act to the stage where he was bitten by the comedy bug at an open mic night. Tony didn’t set out to be a comedian. He pursued a career as a correctional officer, but his first love was always comedy. Later that year, after the passing of his mother, Tony continued to spread laughs amongst family and friends and started rethinking his career choice.

He changed course and in 2007, at the urging of family and coworkers Tony entered an open mic contest & won! He is continuing to hone his act by performing at several comedy clubs, colleges & casinos across the nation. Tony has shared the stage with some noticeable names in the comedy industry such as Michael Colyar, Charlie Murphy, Michael Blackson and Freez Luv, just to name a few.

Gold Strike is proud to present the world-renowned Bonkerz Comedy Series every Thursday night in the Gold Strike Theater.

Bonkerz has hosted the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Drew Carey, Larry The Cable Guy, Carrot Top, Andrew Dice Clay, Sam Kinison. Paul Reiser and many others.

“We opened in 1997, and in 1998 we got our first casino industry award for Bonkerz Tunica,” said Bonkerz Comedy Production Founder and President Joe Sanfelippo. “Since then we’ve had dozens of awards including a special award from The Emmy’s to recognize our involvement in Louie Anderson’s career. We have worked with more than 100 casinos since our start in Tunica and will always feel grateful to the Tunica casino industry for giving us our first chance and helping make us the successful company we are today.”

Tickets for the weekly Bonkerz comedy shows are $15, $22.50 and $30 plus tax and service fee. A four pack of tickets starts at $58.80 plus tax and service fee. Two specialty drinks will be featured in the Gold Strike Theater each Thursday including the One Liner, a frozen daiquiri made with vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice and blue curacao and the Callback, a frozen daiquiri made with gold tequila, amaretto, peach schnapps and pineapple juice, $13 each.
