I once took a phone call from a reader who had a complaint: “My wife plays quarter slots,” he said, “and she gets cash coupons and free buffet offers in the mail. I play $5 a hand blackjack, and I get nothing. What gives?” What gives is that someone playing 500 spins an hour, betting three quarters at a time on a three-reel slot, risks $375 an hour. A $5 blackjack player at a full table plays about 50 hands an hour, and risks only $250 an hour. (more…)

Someone was always stopping by to ask if we needed anything. We did have a few cabana boys, but unfortunately none were shirtless! (more…)

Among the prime attractions of video slot machines are interactive bonus games that are a fun way to pile up credits without making extra wagers. Land three noisemakers on the screen in Jackpot Party, for example, and you get to touch the screen to choose gift boxes containing credits until a “Pooper” ends your party. On many games with free-spin bonuses, you’re first asked to touch an icon to reveal how many free spins you’re getting, and sometimes to touch an icon to reveal whether your winnings will be multiplied. Ahh…Father’s Day! One of the best day’s of any man’s life is the day he becomes a Father! It’s only then that he can truly begin to understand the years of conversations, scoldings, disappointing looks, praise and pride that his own father has shown him over the years.
