Chef Otis Dickerson, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana brings his love for Southern quality and tradition to the new 662 Bistro at Horseshoe Casino Tunica. The restaurant’s menu is heavily influenced with the flavors of Creole and Southern cuisine. The menu looked so good we knew we had to try it our as soon as possible.
One of the first things I was excited to try was the eggplant hummus with warm naan bread. The tanginess of the hummus, creamy eggplant with garlic and the warm bread was the perfect way to start our meal. I paired that with Panzanella salad that was full of roasted brussel sprouts, kalamata olives, house made croutons tossed in a Dijon vinaigrette. I could have stopped right there everything was so good but I’m happy I didn’t.
Next up was the marinated lamb kabobs with roasted garlic and herb potatoes and tzatziki sauce. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the tzatziki sauce was a light and refreshing addition to the plate.
I can’t wait to go back and try out some of the other menu options. I hear there is a famous death by chocolate dessert that is topped with chocolate oreo truffles that is sinful.
Be sure to call ahead for a reservation. The restaurant is open Friday-Saturday from 5-11pm.
