If you’re looking for a good place to work up a sweat on your next visit to Tunica, grab your racquet and head to a tennis court that’s ready to be played all year long. At Tunica National Golf and Tennis, four indoor climate-controlled courts keep players cooled off or warmed up throughout the year, whatever the weather.
Owen Courts at Tunica National are the only indoor tennis courts in the area, but they’re also the only tennis center in the South with Hydro-Grid Har-Tru clay surfaces. On a clay court, the surface is a shock-absorbing cushion that makes sliding and diving for the ball safer.
Spectators stay warm at the tennis court, too, because there’s a sitting area behind Plexiglas above the courts. Visitors can cheer on friends while sipping on a drink from Murphy’s, Tunica National’s spot for great drinks and meals.
Another plus to our indoor tennis courts is that there’s always a tournament or community event going on. Because Tunica National doesn’t have to take weather into consideration when scheduling these events, they can take place during any season, so be sure to check our calendar to see when you can get in on the action! And our beautiful clubhouse and robust pro shop make it easy to get the latest gear or unwind after a tough match.
Tunica National offers tennis packages that include hotel stay, lunch and a tennis clinic. The tennis instructors at Tunica National are Michael Johnson (director of tennis) and Donny Flowers (head tennis professional). You’ll learn a lot from those two: Michael has instructed tennis for more than 20 years, and Donny has hosted clinics at Tunica National since the courts opened in 2004.
