The 2nd annual Bridging the Blues musical pilgrimage begins with 2 festivals just 90 miles from each other – the Delta Country Music Jam in Tunica and the Mighty Mississippi Music Fest just outside of Greenville the weekend of October 4th. The ten-day three state music festival concludes in Helena, AR with the King Biscuit Blues Festival.
One of the special parts of the overall Bridging the Blues event is the unique music venues and live music that can be found through out the entire Delta Region between these major festivals. There is no more unique venue than the Gateway to the Blues – Highway 61 stage located at the entrance of the Mississippi Delta!
Home to the first ever #bluestweetup during last year’s event, the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Center will once again be a part of the festivities. Blind Mississippi Morris will take the stage on October 9th at 5pm for the 2nd annual #bluestweetup. Morris is a Mississippi Delta blues legend and has been rated as one of the 10 best harmonica players in the world by Bluzharp magazine.
Take a look at last years events and make your plans to join us. Be sure to bring your lawn chair. There will be a food truck on hand if you wish to purchase something to eat or drink.
