For country music fans, Tunica’s casinos have country artists like Vince Gill lined up in the next few months. But if you want to listen to great country music while dancing and having a drink or slot machine close by, don’t miss the Derek Joseph Band at one of Tunica’s stage bars.
Derek Joseph is the lead singer of a band that has built an international base of fans. His debut radio single, “No Cool Way,” spent 27 weeks on the Music Row Breakout Chart and has been played on more than 400 country music stations.
The band will be one of the first acts to play on the Horseshoe Casino’s newly-renovated stage bar, which has been upgraded with a larger stage and additional seating.
If we’ve learned anything from speaking with bands who perform in Tunica, it’s that the people who visit and work here are their favorite parts of the town. We hope the town has earned a special place in Joseph’s heart, because he met his wife during a trip to Tunica. Joseph said in addition to the following of Tunica fans he has built, he has become friends with many of Tunica employees, casino guests sand other band members.
“We’ve played at all but two casinos in Tunica, and we’ve always been very well received by the guests,” said Derek Joseph, the band’s lead singer. “The employees have become not only fans, but friends as well. They always treat us great when we’re here, and say they’re happy to see us back each time.”
See the Derek Joseph Band at the Horseshoe March 25-31. In addition to the Horseshoe, Joseph and his band play in Tunica at Roadhouse (where he played opening weekend), the Fitz and Sam’s Town. To learn more about Joseph and his band, visit his website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
