Having a stress-free holiday is all about making the most of your time. One of the best ways to make your time count is by killing two birds with one stone. It’s easy to have some fun living it up just down the road in Tunica while crossing off holiday shopping from your to-do list.
Your first stop should be to the Gateway to the Blues Visitor Center, especially if you’re new to Tunica. While this is a stop for all of our visitors to gain a base knowledge of Tunica attractions, it’s also a gift shop stocked with truly Southern gifts. Our favorites are gifts that are suitcase-friendly: Mini cotton bales, mini Mississippi soaps and mini Highway 61 signs.
Your hotel or favorite casino may be the most convenient place to grab a gift. Many properties have gift cards available for gaming. At Harrah’s, there are a few extra shopping experiences: Paula Deen’s gift shop has cooking items, home décor and seasonal merchandise for mom, your wife or the newly married couples you know. The Swarovski Crystal and Trollbeads boutiques are also great for the woman in your life (or the perfect places to find a gift to yourself).
After spending some time in Tunica’s casinos, visit Tunica’s other recreational properties for more gift ideas. The Tunica National Golf and Tennis Pro Shop has polos, hats and equipment that golf and tennis players will love. The Tunica Museum and Tunica RiverPark & Museum stock their gift shops with locally-made crafts and artwork, as well as history books about the area.
For a historical look at the town of Tunica, take a stroll on Main Street. Visit boutiques like 1251 Place, which sells Peter’s Pottery and women’s clothing (it’s a great place to find an outfit for a holiday party!). Ann-Tiques and Tunica Florist are the best stops for home décor or a holiday centerpiece. The Levee Shack, which is inside the Tunica Pharmacy, sells gifts like toys and candles.
If you’re looking for national retailers, Casino Outlets Tunica Resorts will help you cast a wide net for gifts for everyone. Some of the stores include Children’s Place, Hibbett Sports, Lane Bryant, Old Navy, Osh Kosh, Rack Room Shoes and Reebok. Because these are outlet stores, you’ll save big on this shopping trip.
Tunica TV went on a shopping excursion in Tunica. See a preview of what you’ll see at Tunica’s retailers by watching the video below:
