If you are looking to take that special someone out for a romantic dinner and want to impress them with a perfectly paired wine we have a list for you. We have asked the head chef’s from many of Tunica’s award winning steakhouses to share with you their favorite entrée and wine pairing. TJ’s Steakhouse at Resorts Casino recommends the TJ’s Surf and Turf special. This entrée is an 8 oz Filet Mignon, 5oz Cold Water Lobster Tail, one pound baked potato and a fresh seasonal vegetable for only $19.99. The chef’s wine pairing choice is the Flowers of Pinot Noir 2002, which has a predominance of red fruits and is accented by a touch of East Indian spice and a Kiss of well seasoned French Oak.
Chef Heath from the Fairbanks Steakhouse at Hollywood Casino suggests the Blackened Gulf Drum fish served with andouille sausage and crawfish cornbread dressing with asparagus. Topped with a lemon butter sauce and paired with a Simi, Sonoma County, California Chardonnay.
Gold Strike Director of Culinary Operations Andrew Smith recommends the Crispy Duck Confit Egg Rolls with Micro Arugula and Plum Bordelaise Sauce paired with Elk Grove Vineyards, Willamette Valley 2009 Pinot Noir from the Chicago Steakhouse.
Gary Riley, Executive Chef at Twain’s Steakhouse at Sam’s Town has put together a full menu for you starting with the appetizer, Pan Seared Scallops with a Roasted Fuji Apple Butter Sauce paired with Joh Jos Prum Riesling. Next the Soup & Salad course of Lobster Bisque paired with Chardonnay Cakebread, Walnut Apple Vinaigrette Salad paired with Palmadina, Pinot Grigio and for the entrée, Seafood Pasta with Lobster, Shrimp & Scallops in a cream sauce paired with Venica, Tocai Friulano. And for dessert Cream Brulee, perfectly paired with Louis Guntrun, Eiswein.
The chef’s at Jack Binion’s Steakhouse inside Horseshoe Casino suggests the Lamb Chops with Yukon Gold Garlic Mashed potatoes and a Mint Demi paired with a glass or bottle of Duckhorn “Golden Eye” Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, 2007.
’37 Steakhouse at Harrah’s Casino recommends the Coffee Encrusted Flat Iron Ribeye, with Shallot and Bacon Mashed potatoes topped with a red wine demi and paired with Darioush Signature Cabernet, Napa 2005.
