Tunica National Tennis Events in Full Swing!

Tunica National Tennis Events in Full Swing!

If you play tennis or just prefer hitting the ball back and forth, getting into tennis at Tunica National can be just what you need to stay in shape.

The most important reason for playing tennis at Tunica National is it is indoors on air-conditioned clay courts.  That means no sun in your eyes when serving, no sweltering heat, and low impact on your joints from the clay surface, so even if you are out of the swing of things, you will hurt less the next day.

I’ve only played tennis for a few years. I got into the sport by doing Cardio Tennis on Wednesday nights at 5:30.  For only $12, this class is open to the public and is offered every week.  If you’ve never picked up a racquet before or if you have played tennis since you were a child, this class is for you.  It incorporates hands-on instruction with tennis drills with cardio workouts all to music.  This class is men and women, but don’t be intimidated.  Michael and Donny will make sure you have fun.

A new tournament coming to Tunica National this year is the Cotton Classic July 20-22. Registration for this event is $65 per player. For more information or to register contact Michael Johnson or Donny Flowers at (866) 833-6331.

An event that is good for players of all levels is the annual Parker Tractor Mixed Doubles Invitational.  This tournament is  August 17-19 and is fun to play or just have a cocktail and watch the players on all four courts.  The levels for this event are 6.0 (beginner) to 9.0 (advanced).

Finally, it’s always a good time if you live near Tunica to sign up for a league.  It gives you an excuse to play once a week and will make you want to practice other days of the week to be a better player.  There are always leagues starting, so don’t miss an opportunity to play singles, doubles, and mixed doubles have fun in Tunica any way you swing it!
