USGA Golf Comes to Tunica National

USGA Golf Comes to Tunica National

Tunica National Golf & Tennis has had a long list of distinguished tournaments since opening in 2004.  None however will draw more top ranked professional players to the Tunica area than the USGA Sectional Qualifier to be held on Monday, June 6, 2011.

78 professional golfers from around the world will hit the links at Tunica National for a 36-hole shoot-out vying for several positions in this year’s US Open field.  The sectional qualifier is not just an opportunity for these players to earn a spot later this month at Congressional Country Club, it’s also an opportunity for golf fans throughout the region to see some great golf.

The field as it stands today is a line-up of who’s who in golf. Two-time US Open Champion Lee Janzen, former Ryder Cup stars Boo Weekly, Scott Verplank, Chad Campbell, Chris Dimarco and Sergio Garcia all join past PGA Champion Rich Beem as a part of this world-class field.

Tunica National is the perfect place to see these professionals up close and personal.  While the course will be set-up to USGA standards for the players, the on-course viewing area for fans will be void of “the ropes” customary at a regular PGA event.  From the clubhouse to the course, this is every golf fan’s chance to see world-class golf action and players in a unique intimate setting.

I don’t know about y’all but I’m taking Monday, June 6th off!  I hope to see many of you out on the course as well!
