Happy 4th of July!

 Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth of July! Today is Independence Day and is the National Day of the United States. It’s that time of year again when we break out the fireworks and enjoy the parades, barbeques, concerts and baseball games with our family and friends.

It’s also the time when we celebrate our independence and show our patriotism. You can’t go far without hearing the Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle or around here someone whistling Dixie. The American flag and red, white and blue decorations are hung with pride.

Food is also a big part of our celebrations and personally my favorite part. Grills get fired up and picnic tables are adorned with corn on the cob, potato salad, apple pies and blueberry cobblers. This makes me hungry just thinking about it.

If you know of someone serving/served in the US military or see someone in uniform, be sure to thank them for their bravery in making sure we get to continue to celebrate this great country of ours. My thoughts will be with the men and women of the 228th, a group that is very close to my heart and has some of the most amazing people that I have ever met.

I hope everyone has a safe and memorable holiday weekend this year!
