 4th of July in Tunica!

Nothing says 4th of July better than fireworks.  Spending the 4th of July weekend in Tunica this year will get you in the patriotic spirit, but it’s not the 4th of July without seeing the beauty of red, white, and blue in the sky.  If you plan on staying in the Tunica/Memphis area, book your room now.  Here are the largest scheduled displays and entertainment to let freedom ring!

July 2, 2010

  • Pat Green and David Nail, Horseshoe Casino & Hotel,
    Texas country music legend Pat Green and up and coming country star David
    Nail team together for a night of boot stomping fun.  Nothing says patriotism like country music, right?  Get your tickets at www.ticketmaster.com.
  • You’re invited to join in the fun in the Town of Tunica for the Annual Independence Day parade, open to all ages!  Gather at Downtown Marketplace on Main Street in Downtown Tunica at 5:00 pm. The parade starts at 5:30. Children can bring bikes or trikes or walk.  Free hot dogs and drinks will be provided by Tunica Main Street after the parade.  While you’re in Downtown Tunica, check out the Veteran’s Memorial Park to give tribute to our veterans.  For more information about the parade, call 662-363-6611.

  • Fireworks at the Fitz, 9:00 pm, Fitz Casino & Hotel

  • Clint Black, Gold Strike Casino Resort
    Country music fans need to stay in Tunica all weekend! 10 time platinum selling artist Clint Black hits Gold Strike Casino Resort’s Millinium Theatre Saturday night.  There’s not a bad seat in the house at this venue.  I’ve seen him in concert before, and he puts on a great show!   • Fireworks in the Park
    Head to Latimer Lakes Park for Horn Lake’s Fourth of July fireworks display. Fireworks start at 9:00.  Family activities are from 4:00-10:00 including food, a moon bounce, and music.  Call 662-781-4529 for more information.
  • Bartlett Fireworks Extravaganza
    This celebration will be held at Bobby K. Flaherty Municipal Center at Highway 79 and Appling Road from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and will include live music, family activities, a car show, and food vendors. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.  Call 901-372-9457 for more information.
  • Collierville Independence Day Celebration
    This is Collierville’s 25th annual 4th of July celebration featuring entertainment, food, games, and an exciting fireworks display. The event will be held at H.W. Cox Park located at 350 W.   • Firecracker 5K Run/Walk
    The 11th annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk will begin at 7:00 p.m. at The Racquet Club of Memphis. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Call 901-765-4400 for more information.
  • Flag City Freedom Celebration
    Held annually at Navy Lake in Millington, this celebration features food, fireworks and performances by the Navy Band. Admission is $5 per car and the festivities begin at 4:30 p.m.  Call 901-872-1486 for more information.

  • Red, White, and Blue Search Party
    Head over to the Children’s Museum of Memphis at 3:00 p.m. for a patriotic scavenger hunt for the whole family. Admission is $10 for anyone age 1 or older.  Call 901-458-2678 for more information.
  • Red, White, and Blues Celebration
    The Red, White, and Blues Celebration will be held at Handy Park on Beale Street and will include food, music, and entertainment. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at approximately 10:00 p.m.  Call 901-543-3500 for more information.
  • Germantown Family Fourth Celebration
    This family friendly celebration includes food, fireworks, and music. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. at Municipal Park and fireworks will begin at 9:10pm.  Call 901-755-1200 for more information.
  • Independence Day in Olive Branch
    The Annual July 4th “Celebrate Your Independence” event at the Olive Branch City Park will begin at 5:00 p.m. Bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy food, games, and fun! Call 662-895-2600 for more information.
