 Tunica Queen Launches New Season!

Tunica Queen 2008The Tunica Queen is setting sail for the season, and it will be cruising on the Mississippi River with a new schedule this year.

“Because our visitors have enjoyed the cruises so much in the past, we are making the cruises longer this season, and we will be offering one sightseeing cruise Tuesday through Friday,” Lynn Barton, one of the owners of the Tunica Queen, said.  “There will be two sightseeing cruises also offered at 11:30 and 2:00 on Saturday and 1:00 on Sunday.  Dinner and entertainment cruises will be offered Friday and Saturday at 6:30, for visitors to be able to view the sunset over the Mississippi River.”

The Tunica Queen gives visitors a chance to enjoy the beauty and luxury of a classic 19th century riverboat while relaxing in the air-conditioned and heated comforts of the 21st century.  The Tunica Queen was voted the “Best Non-Gaming Attraction”, and the owners are making the experience of cruising on the spacious 400-seat riverboat even more luxurious with a four course dinner and entertainment.

“We will be serving savory prime rib, authentic red beans and rice, roasted turkey, signature sides, and a delicious dessert on all of the dinner cruises this year, and our bars always stock a selection of fine wines and premium liquors,” Barton explained.  “There is always lively entertainment on our boat for the sightseeing and dinner cruises as well.”

The Tunica Queen is located at the Tunica RiverPark near all nine casinos in Tunica, making the location ideal for visitors coming to the area.

“The Tunica Queen is a first class tourism amenity that compliments the success of the Tunica gaming industry and the world-class Tunica RiverPark museum, where the Tunica Queen docks on the Mississippi River,” Webster Franklin, president and CEO of the Tunica Convention & Visitors Bureau said.  “The Tunica Queen is a unique attraction for the millions of visitors who travel to Tunica each year.”

The Tunica Queen sails from the spectacular Tunica RiverPark that won the Southeast’s and Mississippi’s Travel Attraction of the Year in 2005.  Visitors to the 168-acre RiverPark can benefit from the museum and interpretive center, complete with aquariums, interactive exhibits, and artifacts that reveal the legend and the life of the Mississippi River.  To reserve tickets, call 1-866-805-3535, or visit www.tunicaqueen.com.
